Overview

Your departure is scheduled around 7 a.m. in the morning from Marrakech, covering a distance of 180 km, crossing the high Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass, and through a magnificent landscape. You will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a complex of clay and stone surrounded by walls with giant gates. Inside, there are several beautifully crafted homes and buildings. This complex is one of the most beautiful places in southern Morocco, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Afterward, you will visit the beautiful city of Ouarzazate, nicknamed the Hollywood of Africa, with its beautiful studios where several cinematic masterpieces were born.

Ouarzazate, this southern Moroccan city called the gateway to the desert, is just 180 km south of Marrakech and is the center of a region rich in natural wonders: valleys, gorges, oases, palm groves, dunes… It is also the Moroccan capital of cinema and the starting point for a unique experience in the Moroccan desert.

Our Program:

Your journey to Ouarzazate begins after an early breakfast at the hotel. From Marrakech, you will pass through the hamlet of Toufliht, a magnificent wonder built in rammed earth between two mountains, which still bears witness to its typically Berber aspects. You will also catch sight of two other hamlets built of yellow stone and sloping, providing a magical view of the high Atlas Mountains.

You will continue your journey towards the Tizin’tichka pass, where you will be at an altitude of 2260m. From there, you will dominate the extraordinary panoramic view of a mountainous landscape. You will also enjoy your excursion to discover the Berber villages of Aguelmousse and Tizintoute, as well as the oasis below. It’s an ideal time to rest and take souvenir photos.

After a few hours on the road, you will finally arrive in Ouarzazate, the quintessential cinematic city where dozens of international films have been shot, such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Mummy,” “Gladiator”…

This trip will also take you to discover the two most famous kasbahs in the region: the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the Kasbah of Taourirt. A nostalgic moment to admire incredible architecture that testifies to the talent of ancient craftsmen.

You will stop for lunch to taste delicious Moroccan dishes before returning to Marrakech. A short break is planned halfway to rest and once again enjoy the majestic landscapes of the region. You are expected to arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon.
