Three-day, two-night excursion to Merzouga {Bivouace Normal}
Overview
Day 1: Departing from Marrakech at 7 am, we’ll journey towards Dades Gorges via the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass, passing traditional High Atlas Berber villages along the way. We’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou and have lunch either there or in Ouarzazate, where we’ll also explore Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Studios. Continuing through the rose-filled Dades Valley, we’ll spend the night in a riad/hotel in Dades Gorges (dinner and breakfast included).
Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll travel from Dades Gorges to the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert in Merzouga, passing through Berber villages and stopping at Todra Gorges, Tenhir, Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud. Upon reaching Merzouga, we’ll check into a hotel and prepare for our desert adventure. Riding camels, we’ll cross the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, capturing the sunset and sunrise with breathtaking photographs. At our campsite in the Sahara, we’ll enjoy Berber nomad tents and drum music under the stars.
Day 3: Early in the morning, we’ll wake up to witness the sunrise over the dunes before returning to Merzouga on camelback. After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll begin our journey back to Marrakech, passing through various Berber villages such as Alnif, Tazarine, N’kob, and Ouarzazate. We’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening or at night.
